The details are sensible. Wide, adjustable cuffs that turn back when you wash your face, deep pockets and a tie belt. It is certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and Brooklinen sells it in two lengths on its own site, with a size chart that runs from about 46 to 51 inches long.

Skip it if you like the smooth, sheared face of a hotel robe. This is looped terry inside and out, so it feels like a good towel, which is the point. If you want the hotel feel, the H by Frette is the one.

MagicLinen makes its linen in Vilnius, Lithuania, and this robe is 53% European flax and 47% cotton, woven as a waffle, stone washed and certified to OEKO-TEX. The maker puts it at about 190 GSM, which is half the weight of the terry robes here. It has a hood, two pockets and a waist tie.

Linen is the reason to buy it. Flax fiber wicks moisture and dries fast, and it feels cool against damp skin in a way cotton terry never does. For a house in Texas or Florida, or for anyone who runs warm after a shower, this is the robe that will actually get used in August.

It is a blend, and we think that is right for a robe: pure linen robes are crisp and scratchy for the first months, while the cotton here softens the hand. Skip it if you want warmth. It will not give much in a cold bathroom.

Frette has made linens for hotels since the nineteenth century, and H by Frette is its line of hotel-grade pieces sold for the home.
